Physics
Setting effective goals that are specific, immediate and realistic will help to enhance students' success in learning physics. Learning physics is associated with self-management, such as time management; and effort regulation, being able to control effort and attention in the face of distractions. Other learning strategies that may be successful are rehearsal for memorizing discrete information, elaboration to help develop knowledge through paraphrasing, summarizing, creating analogies, and generative note taking. Also beneficial is organization including clustering, outlining and distinguishing between main ideas and supportive ideas; and critical thinking, applying previous knowledge to new situations in order to solve problems (Lynch, 2010, p. 3).
