Chemistry
Setting goals and establishing a time management plan will help motivate students to keep up with the busy schedule of an introductory chemistry class. Students will benefit from note taking strategies, reading strategies, information organization, time management and test taking strategies. Just reading the textbook to get the assignment out of the way or reading the class notes over and over does poorly for understanding and memory. Students need to attend all lectures, do practice problems, apply themselves in lab, prepare for exams, and take advantage of the instructor's office hours.
