History
There is a large volume of material to learn in history. Learning how to read actively, ask critical questions, take good notes, and stay organized are skills that will benefit learners who struggle with the large amount of material. Active reading means that the students are reading out loud, asking themselves questions, making predictions, writing notes, drawing pictures, creating timelines, and/or constructing concept maps and flashcards while they read. The notes students make become study materials for writing exams. Students have to keep up with their readings and assignments from day one; if they fall behind, it may be too overwhelming to get caught up.
